Medical Plans
To help employees and their families obtain quality medical care, First Federal offers a choice of medical plans with regional Preferred Provider Organization Networks to choose from. All full-time employees with a schedule of 37 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in First Federal Health Care Plans.
Dental Plan
Eligible employees can choose to receive dental coverage. The Dental Plan provides three forms of coverage: preventative/ diagnostic, basic services and major services. In addition, limited orthodontia services for dependent children are included.
Flexible Spending Accounts
First Federal offers two flexible spending accounts: Health Care Reimbursements and Dependent Care Reimbursement. These accounts help employees save taxes by setting aside pre-tax contributions to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses and/or dependent care expenses.
Prescription Drug Plan
First Federal's medical plan also includes prescription drug coverage at network pharmacies for generic drugs, formulary name-brand drugs and for non-formulary name-brand drugs. A money-saving mail order option is also available for employees who are on long-term medications.
Vision Plan
First Federal's vision benefits for eligible employees are included with other health benefits. Vision services that are provided under the plan include examinations, lenses, frames or contact lenses.
Retirement
Employees receive company-paid contributions into their retirement plans, as well as, making pre-tax contributions into our 401(k) plan as a 50% match of an employee's contributions (up to 6%).
Retirement Medical Savings Account
Eligible retirees will have a Medical Savings Account available to them at the time of retirement to assist with reimbursement of health care costs or premiums.
Vacation
First Federal offers vacation for both part-time and full-time employees based on years of service. Vacation time is earned on a weekly basis.
Personal Time
Hourly full-time employees earn four personal days each year. These may be used at the employee's discretion. Unused days are paid back as an additional bonus at the end of the year.
Holidays
First Federal employees receive ten paid holidays per calendar year. Full-time employees are paid for eight hours each holiday.
Short-term Disability
For illnesses lasting longer than 1 week. Eligible for 1 week after six months of full-time employment, one additional week for every full calendar year of employment thereafter, with a maximum of 13 weeks with no cost to the employee.
Long-term Disability
Payments based on 60% of monthly earning starts after 13 weeks of short-term disability, continues until social security benefits begin, coverage begins after 90 days with no cost to the employee.
For employees with a schedule of 37 hours or more per week, First Federal offers life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Premiums are fully paid by the company. In addition, employees can choose to purchase supplemental insurance products for themselves and their dependents.
First Federal employees may purchase company stock without paying broker fees or commissions. Purchase amounts must fall within the established plan limits and may be taken care of through payroll deduction. The purchased shares go into a dividend reinvestment account that the employee owns. This should not be confused with the company's retirement accounts.
First Federal is one of the few financial service markets that offer a bonus compensation program to every employee. The bonus compensation program enables every First Federal employee to take ownership in and be rewarded with cash for contributing to the success of our bank.
