At First Federal Bank, community involvement is one of our core values. We believe that our achievement as an institution is directly connected to the achievement of our communities as a whole. We direct our giving and our community involvement to areas that we believe are important to our communities' future vitality and success. We are committed to reinvesting in our communities and in particular, serving the low and moderate income populations.
In an effort to manage the many donation and sponsorship requests we receive in a fair and consistent manner, and to maintain consistent support to our communities, we will use the following guidelines to consider requests:
PRIORITIES
First Federal Bank gives priority consideration for charitable donations to programs and activities located in our service areas that:
- Improve the quality of life for underserved populations and low to moderate income individuals.
- Contribute to the cultural and/or economic development of the community
- Support youth programs, education efforts and scholarships that focus on health and wellness, safety, community involvement and financial literacy
- Are 501 (c)(3) organizations
- Show evidence of past financial and program success
- Are not considered controversial or discriminatory
- Have bank employee interest and support
- Have existing account relationships with First Federal Bank
- Will provide appropriate exposure and publicity for First Federal Bank.
RESTRICTIONS
No donations will be made to
- Political campaigns or organizations
- Organizations of a controversial nature
- Individuals seeking sponsorships for fundraisers, trips or tours
- Religious organizations (unless they meet significant criteria above)
- Labor, fraternal or political organizations
- An organization's annual operating expenses
- First Federal Bank is a major contributor to the United Way. Therefore, organizations that receive funding from the United Way will not be considered for additional contributions unless by special management request.
The following information should be supplied by any new organization making a monetary donation request (using the Donation Application form on the website or provided by the branch):
- The donation amount requested
- Whether the organization is a FFB customer
- The objective of the organization or event
- The target audience for the program
- The planned use of the contribution
- Description of the publicity plan and any opportunity to promote FFB products at the event
- Other major sponsors, participants, funding sources and contributors.
