First Federal Bank Supports Connecting Kids to Meals
Defiance, OH – On September 18, 2018, over a dozen First Federal Bank employees will support Connecting Kids to Meals’ mission to serve thousands of hot, healthy meals each day to children. Wendi Huntley, President of Connecting Kids To Meals, stated that "we are truly grateful to have the support of First Federal Bank. We can't do this work of fighting childhood hunger alone."
The group of bankers will volunteer from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to package and distribute meals. “As part of our Better Together philosophy, we know the important role First Federal Bank has to support life-changing organizations such as Connecting Kids to Meals. Not only through financial gifts, but also through our time and talent,” said Crystal Jordan, Vice President, Community Development Officer at First Federal Bank.
Connecting Kids to Meals provides hot, nutritious meals throughout the entire year, at no cost to children in low-income and underserved areas. As a nonprofit organization, they fulfill this mission by partnering with community locations where kids gather during the summer months and throughout the academic year. Since they began operation in 2002, they have served over 5 million meals to children in need.
