We're on a mission to make a difference in our community. First Federal Bank and First Insurance Group1 have teamed up to Pay it Forward with random acts of kindness across Ohio, Michigan and Indiana on our annual Pay it Forward Day. 

Receive up to $10,000 for Your Pay It Forward Idea

To continue this ripple effect of kindness, we want to hear from you! Tell us how you would Pay It Forward using the form below and you may receive a grant for up to $10,000 to make it happen.

Your good deed could be delivering a hot meal to families on a cold day or gathering a team to create care packages for those in need. Last year we received over 150 Pay It Forward ideas and selected twelve to receive funding. So get creative and share your vision!

  • "I will pay it forward by organizing an event with our local Girl Scout Troup to make colorful pillowcases and fleece blankets for children in the hospital to add a little cheer. "- Beth G. in Delphos, OH

Submit Your Pay It Forward Idea

Personal Contact Information

We aim to enhance our communities and will select several submissions to receive funding up to $10,000. All submissions should demonstrate these attributes: 

  • Benefit the local community within northwest Ohio, southeast Michigan and northeast Indiana 
  • Impact more than one individual
  • Pay It Forward idea should be completed by the end of the calendar year (December 31, 2018). 
  • Idea should fall into one of these categories:
    • Special Community Projects & Renewal Efforts
    • Education or Financial Literacy
    • Arts & Culture 
    • Health & Human Services
    • Animal Welfare
    • Environmental Causes 

To ensure that our grants can make the biggest impact on our communities, we ask that your submission avoids benefiting: 

  • One individual
  • Political candidates or organizations
  • Global organizations that don’t support our local community 
  • A discriminatory organization 
  • Direct donations to non-profit organizations

 

Entry: To enter the 2018 Pay it Forward grant contest, you must successfully submit your idea using our form provided at http://payitforward.first-fed.com/ along with all required fields. Multiple entries per person are permitted. At the time of submission, you will be required to enter your name, phone number and email address. Please note, your name, phone number and email address will be used for communication for the Pay it Forward project. If you would like to sign up for our email marketing, we would add you to our database for future promotions and updates. You may opt out of future marketing email notifications. 

Participation: All entries will be vetted by First Federal Bank and First Insurance Group1 and may be used for marketing purposes. By participating, you agree that we may use your idea in our marketing campaign, along with your first name and town or city and state of residence. By submitting a Pay It Forward project or idea to receive grant funding, you are agreeing to perform that project if selected. Unlawful, obscene, provocative or anything else deemed questionable, improper or indecent by First Federal Bank and First Insurance Group1 will not be considered for a grant. We retain sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.

Selection of Grant Recipients: Grant submissions will be evaluated based on the quality of the idea and for adherence to the grant submission criteria and restrictions. During the submission period, First Federal Bank and/or First Insurance Group1 may reach out to those who entered to learn more about their idea or project to help determine eligibility and feasibility. All decisions made by the panel are final. 

Award: A panel of judges from First Federal Bank and First Insurance Group1 will select the recipients of the Pay it Forward grants, awarding various amounts up to $10,000 in total funding. Funding will be awarded to a non-profit organization on the behalf of the recipient to ensure that funding is directed towards the facilitation of the Pay It Forward project. 

Publicity: By participating, each entrant grants First Federal Bank and First Insurance Group1 permission to use their name, text, and imagery for publicity purposes without payment or guarantee of award. Depending on usage, the Pay it Forward project idea may be showcased on our website or within our marketing efforts.

Time frame: The Pay it Forward submission time frame will begin at 9: 00 a.m. (EST) from October 8, 2018 and stay open until 12:00 a.m. (EST) November 13, 2018. No entries will be accepted after that time.

Notification: Entrants will be contacted on or around November 23, 2018 if they are selected, or during the submission period if more information is required. The grant recipients will be notified by the phone number and/or email address provided at the time of entry. If the selected recipient(s) do not reply after five (5) business days, the recipient(s) submission will be voided and an alternative recipient will be selected. Selected Pay it Forward ideas and recipients will be announced on our Facebook page and website on Monday, December 3, 2018.
